Abstract
The fitting of the tenon joint plays an important role in its functioning. Experiments were carried out in industrial conditions with the aim to investigate the execution accuracy of the tenon joint tolerated in two directions. On the basis of measurements and calculations of a series of tenon joints manufactured from two kinds of timber, namely alder and pine, the authors determined types and classes of fits of seat lengths with tenon widths and – for the same elements – of seat widths with tenon thicknesses.
