The aim of the study was the evaluation of induction by: oleic acid, ethanol, glycerol, hexadecane and glucose of promoters introduced with gene Lac Z into Yarrowia lipolytica genome. Induction effects were estimated by the growth of 12 transformants on lactose and by the measurement of β-galactosidase activity. Despite the pre-sence of suitable promoters inductors in the medium tested yeasts clones were unable to utilize lactose for their growth. Weak growth observed for some clones, was probably caused by inductors utilization as C source. Especially that the ONPG test did not confirmed LacZ gene expression in any of studied strains.
