Abstract
The aim of this study was compared the content of the mineral components in twelve clinically healthly horses, kept under the same environment conditions. The concentration of all analyzed elements in serum was within normal range according to professional literature. Whereas, content of Ca, Mg and Fe in two samples of blood plasma was below the minimum detection limit of a device .On the other hand, it was detected significantly decrease of Ca, Fe and chlorides contents and increase of K content in plasma in comparison with performances of serum analyses. These differences were affected by the presence of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid dipotassium salt dehydrate (EDTA –K2), which as an anticoagulant disturbed results of electrolyte determination.
