Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate sexual dimorphism of the selected morphometric traits in Hucul horses. Examinations have comprised 276 horses (96 stallions, 140 mares, 40 geldings) of both sexes aged between 6 days and 28 years. Each of them has been subjected to 37 body measurements. The acquired values have been put to statistical analysis. Sexual dimorphism of the examined individuals is barely noticeable. However, it is detectable at the age of 1 year and it occurs with various intensity for respective metric traits. Highly considerable differentiation has been observed in the body build between adult males and females of the examined horse breed. This variation concerns the height at withers, the height at the sacrum, the length of the arm, the length of the forearm and the metacarpus’s circumference.
