Exact sciences have become a source of inspiration for researchers and scientists representing other branches of knowledge. There is a trend towards integration of exact sciences, primarily physics, chemistry and mathematics, with other disciplines and fields of learning, including spatial economy and land management. In view of the above, Reilly's law of retail gravitation was adapted to the needs of land management in the present study. Reilly's model was used to determine the location of an IKEA store in the region of north-eastern Poland. The applied model relies on the results of a survey evaluating buying intensity in selected age groups of customers. The analyses performed in the study may provide a basis for establishing rules and principles supporting the process of solving practical problems related to land management.
