Abstract
The studies compared the anti-erosion usefulness of four grass mixtures, darnel and independently formed vegetation for biological out-works of pond dams. The effects of a number of agricultural treatments were also estimated. The examined mixtures, especially those containing white clover, showed good anti-erosion properties, better than the monoculture of darnel and much better than the independently formed vegetation. Both the sowing after the cultivation of the dam and undersowing of the degraded vegetation of the dam proved to be effective. After the undersowing, no growth of white clover was observed. The use of moisture absorbent neither increased the humidity of the soil nor improved the growth of the grasses. Single mowing after ear formation proved to be a positive treatment. The best condition of the plants on the plots that were not mown was observed on those that were sown with mixtures containing white clover.
