Abstract. This article refers to the particular characteristics of the multidimensionality of the revitalization process. Quoted definition which indicates the complexity of the process. Analysis of the literature enabled to present this process as phenomenon of the multifaceted substrate, whose range covers diverse areas, such as. urban areas, industrial areas or post-military. The multidimensionality of the process also provide directions impacts and achieving the benefits (in terms of spatial, social or technical). Article enriched also by the characteristics of the degradation process, which as a cause of action revitalization indicates their multifaceted nature.
